As this book features an alphabetical style, the French translation had to change the beasts to suit the language and accommodate the alphabetical stylization.

A comme alit, un lézard bipèdeb
Il mord très fort, il a surpris les Nèdes

B comme biche, belle et craintive
Elle court dans le bois, discrète et vive

C comme chaurus, gros insecte des terres enneigées
Ne tente pas de le caresser, ta main il mangerait !

D comme diablotin, une peste nuisible
Qui te lancera des sorts, car tu es comestible

E comme éventreur, des déserts profonds
Ils se recouvrent de sable blond

F comme foudroptère, aux pinces électriques
Échappe-toi, prends tes claques et tes clics

G comme géant, de Bordeciel vient sa rumeur
Il garde des mammouths, et a sale humeur

H comme hoarvor, une grosse tique des bois
Si elle t'attrape, tout ton sang elle boit !

I comme insecte, on en trouve partout
Certains sont gros, te feront des trous

J comme jills, êtres mythiques
Elles réparent le monde quand le dragon se brise

K comme kwama, en Morrowind il vit
Dans des tunnel sous le sol il git

L comme lamie, sorcière serpent sauvage
elle cherche à manger les enfants en bas âge

M comme mort-vivant, de la nécromancie
l'enfant, de la tombe il sort à minuit

N comme nix, les chiens chitineux
le alchimistes font des drogues avec eux

O comme ogre, qui est plutôt bête
S'il t'attrape il te fera ta fête

P comme portemort, un méchant daedra

d'hémophilie porphyrique tu vas te tordre

W comme wamasu, bête des temps jadis
Dans le marais, gare à leur hubris

Son épée te tranche, sa dague te pique

Y comme yokudan, race de destriers
monture de guerre du noble chevalier

A is for Alit, a two-legged lizard
(ENG:) With enough underbite to swallow a wizard (FR:) It bites very hard and surprised the Nedes

B is for Biche (doe/deer), beautiful and timorous (B comme biche, belle et craintive)
It runs in the woods, discreet and fast (Elle court dans le bois, discrète et vive)

C is for Chaurus, big bug of the snow lands
Don't try to pet, or he'll snip off your hands!

D is for Diablotin (imp), an obnoxious pest
Who'll fry you with spells (ENG:) for the sake of a jest (FR:) for you are edible

E is for Éventreur (duneripper), of desert so deep
(ENG:) It'll chomp off your legs from below as you sleep (FR:) It covers itself in golden sand

F is for Foudroptère (thunderbug), vast shocking beetle
(ENG:) Its pincers will get you, or its serrated feet'll (FR:) Escape, pack up and leave ("prendre ses cliques et ses claques" is an idiom, hardly translatable.)

G is for Giant, of Skyrim I've heard
He keeps Woolly Mammoths, (ENG:) and tends to his herd (FR:) and is in a bad mood

H is for Hoarvor, huge tick of the wood
That's eager to catch you and drain all your blood!

I is for Insect, they're everywhere (I comme insecte, on en trouve partout)
Some are big and will pierce you (Certains sont gros, te feront des trous)

J is for Jills, mystical beings/creatures (J comme jills, êtres mythiques)
They repair/fix the world when the Dragon is breaking (Elles réparent le monde quand le dragon se brise)

K is for Kwama, in Morrowind found
They live in bug tunnels far beneath the ground

L is for Lamia, snake-hag of the wild
Who hopes she might corner a lost little child

M is for Mort-Vivant (Undead), necromancy's slaves
Apocalypse comes when they rise from their graves (FR : "at night")

N is for Nix-Hounds, pack-hunting bugs
Alchemists render their flesh to make drugs

O is for Ogre, whose wits are quite dim
But if one should catch you, your prospects are grim

P is for Portemort (banekin), a mean Daedric minion
Whose masters are found on the planes of Oblivion

R is for Ragnard (skeever), smart rodant (R comme ragnard, rongeur futé)
If you are bitten, you'll be infected (S'il te mord, tu seras infecté)

S is for Spriggan, root, bark, and bough
It hides in that thicket (ENG:) — it's watching you now! (FR:) it might steal your place !

T is for Troll, it has three eyes (T comme troll, il a trois yeux)
Claws like fangs and fangs like shivs/razors (Des griffes comme des crocs, des crocs comme des pieux)

U is for Ursids, the bear family (U comme ursidés, la famille des ours)
