Ghelin-Brol was an Akaviri warrior who helped Emperor Reman Cyrodiil establish the Dragonguard and the first Grandmaster of the order. He was remembered as one of the four greatest Grandmasters the Dragonguard have ever known.[1] He served as the Grandmaster from 1E 2703 to 1E 2734.[2]
History[edit]
Ghelin-Brol was among the organized armada of Tsaesci, who attacked Cyrodiil in 1E 2703. As soon as they heard Reman's voice at Pale Pass, they knelt before him and proclaimed him Dragonborn, claiming he was what they had come to seek.[3][4][5] In the same year he became the first leader of the newly founded Akaviri Dragonguard,[1] appointed by the Son of the West, Reman. He was the first of the Grandmasters, laid to rest.[2] He was succeeded by Vashu-Pir in 1E 2734.[6]
After his death, he was buried in Wind Scour Temple in Hammerfell, and honored with a statue,[7] and "brazier bright".[2]
In life, he wielded the legendary katana Sunderblade.[8] It was known for its potent enchantment that could disintegrate weapons and armors of the foes of the wielder.[9] Numerous superb katanas were fashioned to look like the legendary Sunderblade and were used for centuries by high-ranking Imperial Blades before the order was disbanded.[10]
