Sea Keep (formerly known as Aldveyond Beldaburk)[1] is a stronghold found in the Summerset Isle, amidst the province of the Summerset Isles. This bulwark serves as the first line of defense for the west coast and Alinor, it is an impenetrable fortress with exponential power that can overwhelm an entire fleet. Underneath Sea Keep is Aldmeri ruins that channels magic across the stronghold through fonts, giving it the power that it is known for.[2]
History[edit]
Sea Keep has been present for many untold years, built atop of Aldmeri ruins that supply its immense power.[2] In ancient times, it was known as Aldveyond Beldaburk but it eventually took the name it has now, "Sea Keep."[1] It was designed to be impregnable from the outside, however, it can be compromised from the inside. This did not happen for thousands of years until in 2E 582, when the Storm Sharks, a prominent Maormer militia at the time had infiltrated Sea Keep's defenses and take claim of the garrison. The Sea Mage, Urlsar had conjured a powerful hurricane from inside the fort, planning to wreak havoc across the coastline with it. The commander of Sea Keep, Pandermalion delved into the ancient ruins with a newcomer to sabotage them from the inside, and together with the Storm Shark's forsaken captain, Castire, the three managed to prevent the disaster. The Divine Prosecution had later dubbed this event as the "Sack of Sea Keep."[3]
During the Imperial Simulacrum in the late-Third Era, the town of Sea Keep was an active settlement. It was ruled by Countess Calina and it had a rivalry with Corgrad Wastes.[4] Sea Keep was neighbored by several settlements, including Karnwasten Moor to the north, Marbruk Brook to the northeast, and White Guard to the east.[5]
