Redirect[edit]

I hate to do this given how much work has been put into this page over the last month, but I'm going to be turning this back into a redirect. The Tiber Septim article has been around for a while with a lot more people contributing to it, there's no significant distinction between Tiber Septim and Talos, and this page is simply redundant. I've reverted this as I believe this was a serious gap in our coverage. There is a significant difference between what the Tiber Septim and Talos articles should cover. The Tiber Septim article should cover primarily the man himself, while this one should cover the god and his part in the Nine Divines religion and Talos Cult. There will likely be some overlap and potentially some content from Lore:Tiber Septim should ultimately be moved here, but both articles should still exist. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 14:39, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
I thought an article on Talos was on our to-do list to be honest. I agree with the revert, Talos the god is distinct enough to deserve a full article. It would be one thing if this page redirected to the Tiber Septim article, but redirecting to the tiny entry on Lore:Gods makes this look like a gap in coverage. —Legoless (talk) 16:29, 5 September 2022 (UTC)
I believe this should be returned to a redirect. Despite a lot of fan theories over the unique nature of Talos the deity in comparison to the mortal Tiber Septim, there is no source whatsoever in game or out that distinguishes one from the other. In fact another common misconception is that if you say Talos you are talking about the deity and if you say Tiber Septim you are talking about the mortal. In reality, both the mortal and the deity are known under the exact same names, the deity of Tiber is worshipped under the names Talos, Tiber Septim, and Ysmir, names that his mortal self is also known by. The only distinction between Tiber the mortal and Tiber the deity is exactly that, pre ascension and post ascension and current precedent for figures of similar standing is we cover them all on one page (we don’t have a mortal page for pre heart almsivi, or Dagoth Ur, or pre Warp Mannimarco, or pre ascension Sai etc etc) all of this info can gladly find a home on one page, and essentially all of it currently is anyway on the Tiber Septim page. I would argue that there's enough for two separate articles. The actions of Tiber Septim are better documented and more a matter of historic scrutiny, while the matter of Talos is more about religious interpretation and is more ambiguous, something shared with the rest of the Aedra (who rarely act as directly as the daedra do). The Talos article could be fleshed out more discussing the religious institutions and their history regarding Talos, something separate from the life of Tiber Septim. — Unsigned comment by 172.59.114.246 (talk) at 18:23 on 8 January 2025 (UTC)
