She arrives on the scene just as you and Suriel approach the abandoned boat.
- Suriel: "Help me push it into the water!"
- Aldyna: "Somehow, I knew I'd find you here."
She will reveal that Suriel is her slave and has stolen her belongings.
- "Thank you for returning my Suriel. I thought she might make for the boat after she ran away.
You've saved me quite a bit of trouble, friend. What can I give you in return?" - What do you mean by "your Suriel?"
- "I meant it quite literally. She's my property, a slave fairly traded from High Rock.
Is that my locket? Did she run off with that too?" - Here, have a look at what she stole.
- "My mother's blade! I thought I'd never see it again. I owe you more than you know, stranger.
Come along, Suriel. Thank your gods I'm in a forgiving mood." - This is none of my business. Here, take your things. I'll be on my way. [Advances the quest.]
- You're just going to take her and leave?
- "I don't have much to offer in the way of a reward. My family has suffered in recent years. What you see before you is everything I own."

- "Thank you again for returning Suriel. I've run into some unsavory types that would have … taken advantage of the situation."
- It's not really my business anyway. [Advances the quest.]
- [Intimidate] Take your trinkets. Suriel stays. [Advances the quest.]
- "My mother's blade! I thought I'd never see it again. I owe you more than you know, stranger.
- I don't work with slavers.
- "She has a good life. She's well looked after. You know these Bretons, they're such children.
Surely you have no objections. The Bretons are not our allies. I'm well within my rights." - [Intimidate]Take your trinkets. Suriel stays. [Advances the quest.]
- "She's my property, as surely as that locket is. But if you're determined to free her, there's nothing I can do about it. You're the one who's armed here, after all."
- Good. Suriel, you are free to go.
- "I'll take those trinkets, if you please. You've robbed me enough for one day.
I thank the Three my father didn't live to see this. You should thank them as well"

If you tell Suriel or Aldyna that this is none of your business or between the two of them, you will give Aldyna her belongings and Suriel. You will need to speak with Aldyna to end the quest in this case.
- "Thank you again for returning Suriel. I've run into some unsavory types that would have … taken advantage of the situation."
- It's not really my business.
- "I'm fortunate you were the one to find her. She may not know it yet, but Suriel's lucky to be alive.
I'll gather what little belongings we have and head to Mournhold. I hope we meet again, friend."
Suriel and Aldyna will confront one another after the choice is made. The conversation differs depending on what you chose to do.
If you let Suriel go free:
- Aldyna: "So, you've found yourself a champion, eh Suriel?"
- Aldyna: "Know this. If I see you again, we will not part under such … amicable terms."
Aldyna will then walk away into the swamp.
If you let Aldyna take Suriel, Suriel will kneel in front of her:
- Suriel: "I knew I shouldn't have trusted you!"
- Aldyna: "Don't be so dramatic. You've bread and shelter here, which is more than you had in High Rock."
- Suriel: "Oh, father. How could you do this to me?"
Speaking with her again if you let her take Suriel:
- "Suriel and I have a long journey ahead of us. In time, I hope she'll warm to me. I'm not a bad person.
In the meantime, I'll have to keep a better eye on her."
If you gave Suriel the money to buy her freedom, you will complete the quest through Aldyna.
- "I suppose you fancy yourself a hero."
- You should go.
- "I've already lost everything. The Pact killed my father for dissenting, and my mother died of grief. What you see here is all I have left in this world.
But I certainly don't need your pity. Leave me."
After the quest:
- "I've nothing else to say to you. You're no better than a common thief. Perhaps you'd like my skiff as well, just to sink it into the swamp?"
