Grig is a Nord who can be found talking with Tof outside of the Bards College in Solitude.
Dialogue[edit]
Their conversation will depend on your progression through the story line of the Greymoor chapter.
Before The Gathering Storm is completed, they will discuss recent disappearances in the area:
- Tof: "Shor's bones, it gets worse each day. My mother's cousin says her neighbor's disappeared."
- Grig: "Everyone has a story of someone going missing. Are any of them true?"
Grig will be skeptical:
- "Ghost stories, the lot of them! People don't just up and disappear! And storms don't turn people into monsters. At least not any storm I've experienced in Skyrim."
After completing The Gathering Storm, they will talk about Kilkreath Temple:
- Tof: "They say that anyone not killed by the storm at Kilkreath turned into a monster."
- Grig: "Worse than that, if they weren't killed or turned into a monster, they became mindless zombies!"
Grig will have little sympathy for the worshipers at the temple:
- "Kilkreath got what it deserved, the lousy Daedra worshipers! The people of Solitude follow the true gods, so no storm will ever threaten our city!"
While hunting the assassin which escaped the Blue Palace during Dark Clouds Over Solitude, Tof and Grig may appear:
- Tof: "Assassin! Murderer! He's loose in the city!
- Grig: "Shor's bones, where are the guards?"
She will claim to have encountered the assassin:
- "The assassin had one eye like fire, but the other one was covered by a patch! I swear, he nearly slashed me with his blade!"
After starting Danger in the Holds, Tof and Grig will mourn the death of Queen Gerhyld:
- Tof: "Assassins tried to kill the high king! They murdered Queen Gerhyld!"
- Grig: "Our poor high king must be devastated. The princess, too. What a sad day."
She will criticize the High King:
- "Such madness! The queen dead, murderers running free. Where's High King Svargrim in all this? Probably up in his ugly tower again!
The high king doesn't lift a finger while our city crumbles around us!"
After Svana has spoken with the leaders of the other holds, the pair will discuss what they heard happened:
- Tof: "It's true, the Reach attacked Morthal! The jarl's soldiers put a stop to it, as I understand it."
- Grig: "That's nothing! I heard something happened in Karthald. Karthwatch was destroyed!"
Grig will be concerned about Karthwatch:
- "Karthwatch has fallen? That can't be true. They were the shield of the kingdom!
If these storms could destroy Karthwatch … what about us?"
After the revelations of The Gray Host:
- Tof: "First he hid in that ghastly Tower of the Wolf. Now I hear the high king has fled the city."
- Grig: "That can't be true! High King Svargrim would never abandon us! Would he?"
She worries about the rumors regarding the king.
- "Everyone's talking about what happened in the palace. Is High King Svargrim really trying to destroy the kingdom?"
Once you have prevented the harrowstorm killing everyone in Solitude during Greymoor Rising, the pair will talk about it:
- Tof: "Is the storm over? Are we safe? And did you see how much damage the Tower of the Wolf sustained?"
- Grig: "Everything will be all right. The princess and her allies stopped the harrowstorm and killed the treacherous high king."
She'll thank you for saving the city:
- "They say Svargrim was on the Tower of the Wolf, trying to call the storm. But you and Princess Svana stopped him, didn't you?
I—I don't know how to thank you!"
After Daughter of the Wolf:
- Tof: "Iceheels walking the streets of Solitude? What's our hold coming to?"
- Grig: "Quiet, you! Princess Svana and her allies saved us all—and one of them was an eastern half-giant!"
She is optimistic about the future with Princess Svana's as queen.
- "After everything that's happened … I don't know.
I can't trust the easterners. But if Princess Svana says they can help us … well, I know I can trust her."
