Nostrum Breva

Nostrum Breva is the officious Dunmer healer leading the Maulborn contingent inside the catacombs located near the settlement of Serkamora.

Through research notes and letters found throughout the catacombs, it's revealed that Nostrum Breva is the mastermind behind analyzing and researching new strains of the Llodos plague, aiming to make the plague last long enough to infect an entire city, rather than just killing the host.

She can be found overseeing Maulborn working to move containers of the Llodos plague to Narsis. Nostrum Breva's management style consists mainly of yelling at her underlings, even threatening to throw them to the plague husks should any casks of plague dropped.

Fighting her is entirely optional, although it's quite likely she will be alerted to your presence should any of her Maulborn be attacked regardless. She is a healer and will heal any Maulborn. While this makes fighting the Maulborn trickier with her fighting alongside them, it also means she isn't a particularly difficult threat to deal with if you tackle Nostrum Breva by herself, without her underlings.

Skills and Abilities

Minor Wound

A basic ranged attack that does minor magical damage.

Flare

A basic ranged attack that does minor flame damage.

Focused Healing

The enemy will heal any allies that are hurt, including itself. Enemies often indicate this by calling out for healing (I'm hurt!, I need healing!, Healer! etc.) This effect appears as a yellow beam connecting the healer and its target. This spell can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance.

Heat Wave

The enemy releases fire along the ground in the direction it is facing. This attack does moderate flame damage to all players hit by it. This spell can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance or simply avoided.

Fire Runes

The enemy shoots two fireballs in the air which form two fire runes when they land. The runes do moderate flame damage over time to all enemies within the red circles and should be avoided. Players should be prepared to move as soon as the attack casts as one rune will always be cast on top of you.

Rite of Passage

The enemy channels a spell healing itself and nearby allies for 4 seconds. It takes half a second to cast, and another half a second to begin healing its target once the effect is applied. This ability is usually used when the enemy is on low health. This spell can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance.

Grand Healing

The enemy summons restoring spirits with its staff, healing itself and nearby allies in the target area for 8 seconds. Try to pull or move the enemies out of the healing circle to stop them healing.

Quest-Related Events

When you near the lab, you'll hear:

Nostrum Breva: "All right, we're done here. Pack everything up. We need to regroup with the other Maulborn cadres and deliver this plague to the rest of Deshaan!"

When you get to the lab, Nostrum Breva can be heard commanding her underlings and will say any of the following lines:

Nostrum Breva: "The next one of you to drop a cask gets fed to the plague husks!"

Nostrum Breva: "We need to get these crates to Narsis as soon as possible."

Nostrum Breva: "Don't dally! We have a schedule to keep."

Nostrum Breva: "Be careful with that!"

Nostrum Breva: "Remember that our mission is sacred. Soon all of Morrowind will know about the Maulborn."

When she attacks you, she will yell out:

Nostrum Breva: "You can't stop the Maulborn, you fool! We are the cleansing fire that burns across Morrowind."

Notes

• Nostrum Breva is the author of Nostrum's Notes, Curative Batch Six, Curative Batch Fifteen, and Curative Batch Nineteen. She is also the recipient of The Llodos Plague.
• After defeating Nostrum Breva, if another player summons Nostrum for the quest, Nostrum will appear as "Maulborn Nostrum".
