Garyn Indoril plans to reimprison Balreth in the depths of Ash Mountain.

With the Covenant driven from Davon's Watch, Tanval Indoril has asked me to return the living weapon known as Balreth to its cell.
Quick Walkthrough[edit]
- Talk to Tanval Indoril outside House Indoril in Davon's Watch.
- Travel to Ash Mountain and speak to Garyn Indoril.
Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
Talk to Tanval Indoril after completing the quest City Under Siege: he will state that Balreth has done its job in driving the Covenant from Davon's Watch, and must now be put back to sleep in the depths of Ash Mountain. However, he's not sure what needs to be done to accomplish this. His son Garyn is looking for a solution on the slopes of Ash Mountain to the west of the city, and Tanval suggests that you join him.
Ash Mountain is located southwest of Davon's Watch. Follow the road south through the town of Senie, then turn north after Othrenis and head onto an island surrounded by rivers of lava flowing from Ash Mountain. You'll find Garyn in front of a tent at an Pact camp. He'll greet you with grave news—Balreth will not return to his cage quietly, and your help is needed. You are rewarded with a small amount of gold for completing the quest.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
