Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
- Orsone's Riddle
Speak to Orsone in Gerrick's Goods, the general store in the town market. Choose any of the initial topics to begin the rhyme. The rhyme scheme is AABBA, meaning the second and fifth lines rhyme with the first, and the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other.
Follow any of the three topic's paths using the table below.
Initial Topic | Iszara | League | Stros M'Kai |
---|---|---|---|
Cyrus | "I'm searching for a young lady." | "I fought some worthless thugs not long ago." | "How long have you lived on the isle?" |
Orsone | "I know your sister's name." | ||
Cyrus | "Her dealings, I fear, were shady--" | "Pray, then, parrot, tell me what you know." | "Iszara's been gone for a while." |
Orsone | "And rumors of her game." | ||
Cyrus | (1) "My time is short" or (2) "Start making some sense" or (3) "Make yourself clear" | ||
Orsone | "I only rhyme" | ||
Cyrus | Pick the response that rhymes with Cyrus' previous line: (2) "I'm taking offense." or (3) "I'm confused here, I fear" or (1) "Come, be a sport" |
||
Orsone | "'Bout half the time" | ||
Cyrus | "Give us a break there, matey" | "Your thuggish feathers have begun to show." | "These riddles aren't really my style." |
Orsone | "Unless you do the same!" "Whee whoooo" (Orsone repeats his lines) |
||
Cyrus | (Cyrus repeats his lines) | ||
Orsone | (Orsone says riddle) |
If you succeed, Orsone will reveal his riddle:
- "Pretty sister had her schemes,
- "needed gold this time, it seems,
- "twenty-one paces,
- "as the head faces,
- "buried there the gold still gleams!"
- Iszara's Buried Treasure
Make sure to buy a shovel from Gerrick for 30 gold. You should spend as much gold as you can in town, whether at Gerrick's or at the Mage's Guild stocking up on potions, because you can only carry at most 500 gold. If you have any more than 200 gold, you won't be able to pick up the treasure.
The "head" in Orsone's riddle refers to the Statue of Thassad, just west of town along the river. Once you arrive at the statue, walk 21 paces in the direction the fallen head faces, and dig with a shovel to discover 300 gold.
The treasure's location is marked with a blue X on the map to the right. Now that you have a shovel, you can continue digging for buried treasure around the island. There are five other spots, each marked with a red X on the map, that contain 10 gold.
