Belmyne Dreleth

Belmyne Dreleth is a Dark Elf battlemage who emerges from the Strange Door after having decided to venture into the Shivering Isles.

He is armed with an iron dagger and wears a pair of patchwork pants, a matching shirt and scruffy shoes.

Quest-Related Events

A few moments after you have arrived near the door Belmyne will come tumbling out, insane and confused, shouting out the words:

"It's not right! Madness! Why? Why? Everything is wrong! It can't be done! Stay away from me! I won't go back. I won't go back! You can't make me go back! I'll kill you all! You're all going to die!"

He will then proceed to attack Gaius Prentus, leading to his inevitable death.

Notes

• Belmyne was originally supposed to be less violent. Three dialogue lines were recorded for normal conversation but were never used in-game:
  • "The Gates! The Gates! And...him!"
  • "Stay away! You don't know! You can't know! It's in there! It'll kill us all!"
  • "I won't go back! You can't make me go back!"
