Images[edit]

After a certain amount of faffing about with the male Mazken image to (hopefully) bring it up to standard, I decided to upload a single image of both male and female types as a potential alternative:

SI talk-Mazken.jpg

Rather than unilaterally make the decision to use this to replace the other two images, I thought I'd see what was the general consensus: use this, or leave them as they are at present? If it's decided to use it, could it do with lightening or further tweaking? My opinion was to leave it as it is, but at the risk of it looking less clear than it might.

--Cbh 15:26, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

It's very clear, just put it in if you want, it's better, just leave the other 2 and say this is a male and female Seducer together.! --68.194.37.234 18:26, 3 December 2007 (EST)
I think a female Mazken will suffice. But better than the one you have now, because she is red because of the time of day the picture was taken. It isn't quite realistic to what they really look like. --Timmeh Talk 18:09, 4 December 2007 (EST)
I've added a different image; now she isn't red anymore.--LordDagon 09:05, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for trying to improve the image... but I'm not sure that the new image is really a fix. It's darker than the original and the Dark Seducer is smaller, making it harder to make out any details of the appearance. Also, the new image was uploaded to a non-standard name (see Help:Images for naming conventions). The original image name was preferable, so any new image should either be uploaded to the same name or to a more appropriate name, not a less appropriate one. --NepheleTalk 14:47, 8 June 2008 (EDT)

A question[edit]

I was just wandering does a male mazken or aurel ever appear outside of missions, for example roaming the shivering iles as a guard?--The Divine Crusader 22:49, 7 April 2008 (EDT)

I do not believe so. They certainly do not patrol New Sheoth, and the only road patrols I've seen have all been female. —Dark Spark 02:13, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

Race Mods[edit]

I have been wondering about this for a while, but I don't think that their are any race Mod's that allow you to become a Dark seducer. Is there any paticular reason for this? 202.67.95.54 01:15, 9 February 2009 (EST)

Since mods are made by users, the reason none exist is cause no one made one. 173.52.92.163 13:14, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
I know this is old conversation but i think that if you use a dark elf female and get the armor, it will look similar to the mazken Secret Chief 19:59, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
It is really hard to get the skintone right, however. the dark seducers have got very dark, almost grey skin, dark elves have lighter more bluey skin. i have tried many times but it is hard to make the skin dark enought without them going green or something. i suppose you could make an Aureal though, because it wouldn't be hard to make a high elf's skin look quite gold by making it exta yellow, that looked sort of alright. Plus They are Daedra so technically not a human/elf/beastfolk race and therefore not playable, you wouldn't be able to die... you'd just go to oblivion unless they had human/elf/beastfolk stats ect. it would be a cool mod admittedly... If anyone's interested, the Race Balancing Project, by the creator of Less Annoying Magic Experience (LAME), does add a bunch of races, including Golden Saints and Dark Seducers.--201.10.20.23 06:09, 2 July 2011 (UTC)

Possible Dark Seducer Escort Bugs[edit]

My Dark Seducer Escort seems to be missing the "No" option that appears when I talk with my Golden Saint Escort. Thus, there seems to be no way to release my Dark Seducer Escort; I can only have her keep following me or have her wait in a particular place. Can anyone else confirm this? Is this always so or could it perhaps be dependent upon conditions in the game? Brian Sexton 23:06, 27 March 2009 (EDT)

I installed the Construction Set, did some digging, and found that the topic for her "No" option (SE14EscortNo) was simply missing. It can be added and the fix saved in a custom plug-in. Brian Sexton 05:37, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
I also noticed that dismissing either the Dark Seducer Escort (SE14DSEscort) or the Golden Saint Escort (SE14GSEscort) dismisses both of them per identical result scripts for their "No" options (SE14EscortNo). Since you can request either escort separately, I suspect this is an error for both escorts. Opinions? Brian Sexton 05:37, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
It looks like I misunderstood how the result scripts were stored and what I thought were two identical result scripts for "No" options (SE14EscortNo) were in fact one script. However, this single result script can be modified to check which escort it is running for and dismiss only the appropriate escort, which I did. From my testing so far, it seems to work great: either escort can now be dismissed or denied without affecting the other. Whether you consider this a fix or merely a modification, this and the above make two modifications for a custom escort-improvement plug-in. Brian Sexton 06:51, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
Yes, this is a bug that is fixed by the USIP. --Gaebrial 05:21, 30 March 2009 (EDT)

Dark seducer helmet[edit]

In the quest when you need to kill Syl and take her heart one of the the seducers guarding her private quarters is wearing a goldish dark seducer helmet that looks different from the other ones.Is that helmet a different item?Sayonara 16:42, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Yep, most Seducers possess a standard SEDarkSeducerHelmet; on top of that, the 'elite' guards in Syl's quarters wear a SE07ADarkSeducerEliteHelmet which has a 'golden' mesh to it. --SerCenKing Talk 17:53, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Statistics table.[edit]

Would it be a good idea to change the statistics section to a table? --TheEnigmaticMan 18:15, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Named Dark Seducers added[edit]

I added the named dark seducers, with a link to them. If anyone think it could me moved to a more suitable location, then move it.Calonderiel 19:58, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Dark Seducers and Dark Elves[edit]

I think the Dark Seducers Were moddled after Dark elves because one time is was trying out the creatfullactorcopy on a dead one, it apeared with no armor equiped and it had elf ears.(Well that and a Killjoy copy of my charecter was on a killing spree and when there were only dark seducers and no civilians around he shouted "Your outmatched elf!" at one) Dunehelm (talk) 01:27, 2 October 2013 (GMT)

Always scowl at me[edit]

I've done the SI questline multiple times in my game, and I've noticed that no matter what your rank or alignment is, even if you're Sheogorath himself, Dark Seducers and Golden Saints will always, always scowl angrily at you. I think it's hilarious personally, but I assume it's a bug. Not really a good idea for a lesser Daedra to scowl at their god. — Unsigned comment by 98.28.225.144 (talk) at 18:49 on 8 January 2017‎ (UTC)

I don't think it's a bug: they just have an extremely low disposition towards smelly mortals. I did once have an Aureal type smile at me. I remember it distinctly because I was so astonished: I actually took a screenshot because it was so unusual. I suspect that may have been a bug. :D Vometia (talk) 18:53, 8 January 2017 (UTC)
But once the player is Sheogorath, why would they still do that? It's one thing to scowl at a Duke or Duchess, but your freaking ruler? Maybe it fits the Shivering Isles really well, though. Instead of being respectful and polite to their ruler, they snarl and glare rudely at them. — Unsigned comment by 98.28.225.144 (talk) at 21:04 on 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Works for me. I guess regardless of what mantle the player character wears, they're daedra and you're not so they treat you accordingly. According to them, anyway. Years on, I'm still not entirely sure what to make of the PC being Sheogorath anyway. Vometia (talk) 21:12, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Rank Translations[edit]

The following edit was recently added to the article:

#Kiskengo (soldier)
#Kiskella (sergeant)
#Kiskedrig(lietuniant)
#Grakendo (captain)
#Grakella (major)
#Grakedrig(colonel)
#Autkendo (general)

Is there an official source for these translations, or is this simply speculation? — Wolfborn(Howl) 02:54, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Xirethard[edit]

It appears that the Dark Seducers around Xirethard belong to the Syl faction as well and remain hostile to the player even after the main quest (and causes confusion with summoned Dark Seducers/escorts since they still belong to the Dark Seducers faction). Not sure if this is a "bug" per se, but the information seems worth including.

This shouldn't be a problem in the base game. At the end of the Ritual of Dementia quest (SE07A stage 200) the player is added to the SE07ASylFaction. This should make all of the surviving Dark Seducers encountered in the Private Gardens, Duke/Duchess's Quarters and Xirethard stop being hostile as soon as you finish the quest. --Biolaser (talk) 19:23, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
