Is calling Passwall a city even all that accurate? I would think more of a town or village. Being that it does have services, I would call it a town. Really should be some standard on what is called a city, town, or village. I think it should be fairly easy. A city would be anything that has at least a general store, a blacksmith, and an inn. A town would be something that has some of those but not all of them, and then a village would be those places that only have a few people living there but no services. Anyways even if that suggestion was not taken, I still think calling Passwall a city seems a little much. --Djsyntic 15:05, 3 May 2007 (EDT)

The convenient definition used most of the time is that cities are typically surrounded by a wall, whereas towns are not. This definition seems to work pretty well for both Morrowind and Oblivion, so it's what we've been unofficially using. In most cases, though, we just use the term "settlement" which includes all three. --TheRealLurlock Talk 15:53, 3 May 2007 (EDT)

Can anyone tell me what happens to the citizens of Passwall after the quest 'Retaking the Fringe' has been completed?

Well, I'll try. If I follow the list of citizens, this is what happens: Dredhwen is disabled (disappears) after the Main Quest, Felas is killed at the end of 'Rebuilding the Gatekeeper', Jayred leaves town as you travel through the Gates of Madness at the end of 'Through the Fringe of Madness' (he spends the rest of his days as a hunter), and Nanette and Relmyna move to Xaselm before 'Retaking the Fringe'. That leaves Shelden. On the 'Retaking the Fringe' page, I believe it used to say that he would be trapped and die in the collapsing ruin Xeddefen at the end of that quest. Now it says that he will reappear in Passwall after the quest has been completed. That would make him the sole denizen of Passwall after the completion of the Main Quest, unless something that I am not aware of happens before that.--Quill 07:22, 22 February 2008 (EST)
Actually, Dredhwen stays out in the streets of Passwall after Retaking The Fringe. --Oblivion nerd 21:09, 10 December 2008 (EST)

Will there be any mention of the name Passwall being an obvious mention of the Arena spell? It's curiously absent from both this and the Easter Eggs page. 66.90.168.44 10:28, 15 June 2008 (EDT)

Agreed, that this seems rather obvious and should be mentioned; especially given that a spell with similar effect would be pretty insane in Oblivion, especially given the other lack of flexibility allowed to the player (no levitation, etc.). An entire town created by repeatedly casting the effect is also an amusing thought. 32.157.15.93 00:16, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
Sorry but I fail to see the relevance. So the town has the same name as a spell? It's just a coincidence! There's no Easter Egg here. — Unsigned comment by Rpeh (talkcontribs) at 00:44 on October 5, 2008

Residents of Passwall[edit]

Do the residents of Passwall have Sheogorath's Blessing (insanity)? --Oblivion nerd 21:10, 10 December 2008 (EST)

Isn't everyone in Passwall already insane? Drehwen is always tired so she would go to Dementia, Felas hates germs, a lot, and Shelden is the "mayor" of Passwall just because he's been there the most and Jayred is obsessed with bones.
