Gray Host Fangirl[edit]
Narina is fascinated by the history of the Gray Host, an army of Vampires and Werewolves that wreaked havoc across western Skyrim in the Second Era. Through her research, she has discovered the location of Midnight Barrow, a sunken crypt that the Host used as a laboratory for their research into Harrowstorms. She wants you to make your way down there and try to find an artifact of the Gray Host, which will require access to Blackreach. If you have not already completed Discerning the Transmundane, she will direct you to the dwemer ruins at Reachwind Eyrie, which was once the lair of the Lothid Clan and may have a working lift.
Somewhere Deep and Dark[edit]
Once you've found your way to Blackreach, via the Lothid Lair or one of the other ruins, the entrance to Midnight Barrow will be found in a cave near the entrance to the Tower of Mzark. In the centuries since the Gray Host's defeat, the Barrow has become a Falmer hive unlike few others in the province, with some of their Chaurus becoming infested with some kind of glowing fungus. The artifact, a Gray Host Reliquary, will be found inside the area of the barrow known as the Undergrove, surrounded by many Falmer. Once they are dead and you've recovered the artifact, return to Narina and exchange it for an enchanted ring. The reliquary will be given a place of honor in Cronvangr Hall, and it will provide a blessing known as the Wrath of the Host, which provides a boost to Sneak and Magicka.
