What Armor is he wearing? Does anyone know? — Unsigned comment by 70.170.112.219 (talk) at 05:40 on 1 February 2012
- He wears steel plate armor, boots and gauntlets. --Krusty 07:02, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Essential Status Note[edit]
I know having a note about the essential status of a random NPC is weird, but we do have one for Crazy Batou, and that's a similar situation. I mean the note should probably be re-worded to something like, "Although he is essential, he is related to no quests and has no unique functions." but I think there should be a note. --MetaCthulhu (talk) 00:44, 23 February 2016 (UTC)
- Nah, the reason Crazy Batou has a note is because in Morrowind you get a notification about failing the main quest if you kill an essential NPC, which isn't actually true in his case and would probably distress the uninformed player. The fact that Bolgeir is unkillable is already noted in the summary box, and extrapolating further on this by saying "we don't know why" is not noteworthy in my opinion. There are plenty of other random essential NPCs in Skyrim as well, and I don't think we note them. —Legoless (talk) 01:22, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) I agree with the undo. It's not that notable as there are various NPCs in Skyrim that are essential and play no real roles in any quests. All the children and the Imperial Legates/named Stormcloak officers are always essential and many of them are not related to quests or have unique functions. This is in contrast to Morrowind, where Crazy Batou was unique in being given essential status despite playing no role in the main quest. Also, Bolgeir does actually have some minor quest involvement since he is present at the initial conversation in the Blue Palace during The Man Who Cried Wolf. Finally, of note, other housecarls seem to be essential as well despite not being related to any quests other than Civil War government changes (e.g. Horik Halfhand, Teeba-Ei). - In that case, you three (you two and likelolwhat) are right, it's better without the note. --MetaCthulhu (talk) 02:02, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Bolgeir’s Complexion[edit]
Is there a story behind Bolgeir’s pockmarked complexion? Maybe he had ataxia or the rattles as a kid...
