Escaped Prisoner[edit]

I can confirm (Skyrim PC v.1.6.89.0.6) that "Escaped Prisoner", BaseID 000BFB44, has a voice track. This is upon successfully spawning him and interacting with him. Additionally, using the openactorcontainer 1 command, I was able to verify that he indeed has no items in his inventory. However, despite the additional comments on the verification tag ("This is incorrect. There is a quest to kill him and he does have a voice track."), I cannot seem to find any quest where you may have to kill this NPC on the UESP or through the console.

I will edit the original text to remove the quip about the voice track, but would appreciate any further investigation into whether this NPC does actually appear in Skyrim anywhere, especially if he is related to a quest. --GodRaine (talk) 04:55, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

The CK shows no usage for both "Escaped Prisoner"s at all (there is a second one with ID 00071733). So whatever quest that should be, it doesn't involve these two NPCs. --Alfwyn (talk) 11:50, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

Voice of Namira[edit]

Under Placeholder NPCs, should Voice of Namira be included? --GodRaine (talk) 05:59, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

Yes, I think so. Interestingly enough, the article about the "Voice of Boethiah" NPC got just deleted. --Alfwyn (talk) 11:56, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
Was the article deleted after the same entry was made into this article? If so, should the Voice of Namira article be deleted as well, now that it has been added here? --GodRaine (talk) 21:39, 3 March 2013 (GMT)
I've redirected the article to go here. Vely►t►e 21:47, 3 March 2013 (GMT)
Fantastic - thanks :) GodRaine | Talk 22:13, 3 March 2013 (GMT)
Should all of these Daedric Princes 'Placeholder NPCs' redirect back here? Azura, Clavicus Vile, Hircine, Malacath, Mehrunes Dagon, Mephala, Meridia, Molag Bal, Vaermina, Voice of Boethiah, Voice of Namira. Currently the site seems inconsistent with most still having there own pages, some have been deleted and one redirects so far. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 01:12, 8 March 2013 (GMT)
I believe that all placeholder NPC pages such as the ones listed should redirect here, as they will be more useful together than apart as separate pages, and that having all of the pages both together and apart at the same time seems redundant and a (n arguably negligible) waste of server space. Captain Metilius[edit]

Since when is Captain Metilius an unused npc? When i was doing the quest "To Kill an Empire" (Xbox 360 version), he was sitting at the table together with the Emperor... I'm sure of it. How come he's named here as unused? 81.204.250.179 19:28, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

Are you positive? Because I can find no evidence in the game data that he is ever a part of that quest, or even in that room, at any point. Jeancey (talk) 19:31, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
I'm sure because then i didn't even ever heard of the Creation Kit. I was just playing Skyrim, noting every npc i came across and saw him sitting at the table, after you've poisoned the food. I know because i wrote his name down, and i did that only for chars i came across and i play on the Xbox 360. How else would i know his name in the xbox 360 version? 81.204.250.179 19:36, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
I'm not sure, but the game data is pretty conclusive... I'll look into it more. Jeancey (talk) 19:38, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
Yea, i find it weird that he's not placed in the game data as being there in Castle Dour during To Kill an Empire. I'm really sure he is there, sitting at the table. Maybe there's some other xbox 360 player who's near that quest. Or i could start a new save, but that would take some time. 81.204.250.179 19:45, 4 April 2013 (GMT)
There should be two Penitus Oculatus members in the room, along with two Nobles and a Noblewoman, who will be seated with the false emperor. None of those NPCs appear to be renamed. He was to be used in Dragon Rising, with behaviors and locations set up, but he is not used or placed at all in the game. It would be very, very odd for him to appear in the game. Vely►t►e 20:26, 4 April 2013 (GMT)

() Now i'm starting a new save just to get to To Kill an Empire, because I'm absolutely positive he's there. (ps, i'm the same person, i'm just responding from my other pc) 145.89.252.150 07:51, 5 April 2013 (GMT)

Treating quests, etc. as existing[edit]

What was meant by this was "he is used in this quest", etc. While they are treated as if they exist ("x happens during the quest"), I don't think it would be wrong to describe them as unimplemented. Mostly I made the guideline because verbs were a pain. "X was going to be a Nord warrior in quest Y, which would have involved X doing something in place Z, which would have been near Windhelm." It's much easier to treat them with verbs as if they existed. However, in order to clarify that something doesn't exist, I noted that with an adjective, which I think works out fine. In some cases, there is no documentation of a nonexistent location or quest except for on this page, because all we have to go off of are data names and associations; the quest/location was never created and isn't documented anywhere, which would cause confusion.

It made sense to me to write it that way. I didn't note it on all of the arena-associated NPCs because I figured once was enough, so I don't know if consistency is the issue here. Vely►t►e 00:51, 28 May 2013 (GMT)

Test NPCs[edit]

There are a number of test NPCs, some interesting, some not. Would we want a subpage for them, or a showhide on this page, or just exclude them? Alternatively, could we just make a table listing their name, ID, and interesting note, since the NPC template data is generally unimportant for them? Vely►t►e 16:08, 14 September 2013 (GMT)

Speaking of test NPCs, should they have their own page? --Thrapple (talk) 23:44, 26 October 2013 (GMT)
I should note that I did not list all of them on this page; there's probably 10+ at the very least that aren't on here and are simply tests. Vely►t►e 00:33, 27 October 2013 (GMT)

() Yeah, scratch what I said. There isn't enough test NPC's on this page to make a list, anyway.--Thrapple (talk) 20:13, 27 October 2013 (GMT)

That's because there's too many to add to this page; it would stretch the page too far. There's at least ten more test NPCs, but I stopped adding them to ask this question. If you think a subpage would work (Skyrim:Unused NPCs/Test NPCs) or just a new page (Skyrim:Test NPCs), I can do that. More opinions would be great, but if not, I think I'll start on the page once I get the time (sometime within the next month, probably). Vely►t►e 20:39, 27 October 2013 (GMT)
I personly would like a new page, but I also would like if somebody else where to weigh in, as well. also, if a new page is created, can I help make it?--Thrapple (talk) 19:12, 28 October 2013 (GMT)
Of course--it is a wiki, after all. Once I get the time I can set up a sandbox for the info. You can start on one too, or just clear out the contents of this one and start on a Test NPC page there with whatever info you can provide. Vely►t►e 20:01, 28 October 2013 (GMT)

() So I can blank the page? sorry, its just that I feel like I'll get in trouble if I do.--Thrapple (talk) 20:45, 28 October 2013 (GMT)

You may. It's one of my pages, and I'm saying you can do what you wish with it for the purpose of a Test NPC page. Vely►t►e 20:52, 28 October 2013 (GMT)
Normally, when making edits to another user's space, it's a good idea to use an edit summary indicating that you have the user's permission, and when it's from a discussion on the wiki, include a link. So, something like: "Blanked page, per this discussion". Robin Hood  (talk) 21:23, 28 October 2013 (GMT)

Full Pages[edit]

Some of these have a lot of content, definitely enough for their own page, Are we allowed to make full pages for these npc's? — Unsigned comment by UnknownG (talkcontribs) at 22:17 on 20 July 2017

We don't really want to go down that route. If you sandbox it first we can decide it on merit rather than policy though. There really shouldn't be much about these unused NPCs that would make them so long that they can't exist here. The placeholder NPCs should not have the associated dialogue placed on their section/page. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 23:28, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Rogens wife[edit]

How come deminia isn't mentioned on here? — Unsigned comment by PrinceRetro (talkcontribs) at 09:48 on 2 May 2019 (UTC)

It looks like Deminia was added by Cutting Room Floor. I don't see anything about her in the base game. If you know for a fact that she was, please post her editor ID in the base game, and we can work on adding her info. Robin Hood  (talk) 16:25, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Herebane Sorenshield[edit]

Playing Skyrim Special Edition, I just encountered Herebane Sorenshield on Kilkreath Balcony while completing The Break of Dawn quest. After killing him, I looted both Herebane's Courage and Herebane's Fortress from him.

EDIT: I do have Cutting Room Floor mod enabled so that might be the source. SDShannonS (talk) 16:41, 30 April 2020 (GMT)

Confirmed, Cutting Room Floor restores Herebane Sorenshield, so that's why you saw him. Robin Hood  (talk) 21:59, 30 April 2020 (GMT)
