Aren Tano

Aren Tano is a Dark Elf Merchant, and one of Marki the Shark's contacts on the east bank of the Thirr River. You can encounter him in Almas Thirr during the quest Follow the Money, as you trace Marki's footsteps.

As with Marki's other contacts, Aren is a traveling merchant who sells goods - apparently in his case, spider silk - from the Velothi of Indoril Ilvi's lands at a competitive price to the East Empire Company. His position in Almas Thirr puts him out of the reach of Indoril Ilvi's investigation during the events of Art of the Deal, yet if that quest concludes with Ilvi's acceptance of the East Empire Company's rights to trade within his land, Aren will find himself unemployed - something he seems to have seen coming.

Even if offered a chance to join the East Empire Company as a true agent, Aren will refuse on the basis of his age, with the death of Marki having apparently shaken him.
