Were you the one who proposed that the page on the Avatar of Akatosh should be deleted?[edit]

I wrote that page, and I agree wholeheartedly. It should be deleted. A friend of mine who is new to the wiki wrote it originally, and I tried to help her out, but she kept changing stuff. Some of it is mine (such as the reference to "Heaven" that you criticized), but still, I suppose you're right. There doesn't really need to be an article on the Avatar in the first place. So, yeah, let's just let it get deleted. 62 Misfit 17:03, 2 February 2009 (EST)

Thanks, but it'll be deleted in a few days, in line with our Deletion Policy. –RpehTCE 00:41, 3 February 2009 (EST)

NPC Image[edit]

Just noticed that Laralthir's image is absolutely horrendous pixel-wise! I've added an image tag and, since I noticed you're quite skilled at imaging, just felt like pointing that out in case you could get a better one up. --SerCenKing 15:42, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Yeah that's not good. Looks like it was one of my early images when I didn't know what I was doing and although Eshe did her best to clean it up, it was beyond repair. A NeedsImage tag was right. –RpehTCE 16:27, 4 February 2009 (EST)

Problem with the Book Summary template[edit]

The changes you made to the template to recognize the Tamriel Rebuilt subspaces have had an unfortunate side-effect. Two new categories have shown up now for the two PGE's: Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition-Books and Lore-Pocket Guide to the Empire, 3rd Edition-Books. Since these books are using subspaces to distinguish the sections, the template is treating them the same way it treats TR books. I'm not sure what to do about this - maybe move all the PGE subpages to use some other format - say a hyphen instead of a slash, maybe? Either that or add some sort of option to the Book Summary template to make it not use the ModName template when you don't want it to. Other books affected by this are those which use the Daedric font and have a /Daedric subpage using the graphic version for people who don't have the font installed. Not sure if there's others, that's all I can find at the moment. --TheRealLurlock Talk 19:04, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Ah, good spot. There's always an exception to prove a rule. Now fixed. –RpehTCE 03:25, 11 February 2009 (EST)

What was inaccurate in my updated Marana Rian schedule?[edit]

I spent 4 hours following her around - and I could off course narrow it down to exact minutes, but isn't the point of the new schedules to be able to find her no matter what time a day it is? — Unsigned comment by Krusty (talkcontribs) on 12 February 2009

Yes, but unfortunately you have to look in the CS to do a schedule and then verify it in-game rather than starting with the game. For instance, several of the times are out by an hour because you've gone for arrival times. It's more important to know when she starts to move to another place as that determines the AI package she's using, which can in turn affect the services she offers. One example is that she starts heading to the Arboretum at 10pm rather than 11. The schedule also failed to mention the Light the Dragonfires exception.
I dithered quite a bit before undoing your edit because it was nearly right. It would be great to have you on board the project, perhaps as a schedule checker rather than a writer, if you don't have CS access. –RpehTCE 00:43, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Ahh, I see - funny thing is, I had all the transportation written down in my first draft of the schedule, but decided it was a bit too long for it's own good. Anyway, as I don't have acces to CS (PS3 user), I guess I cannot participate as a writer - but I would like to be a part of the project in any way I can. Let me know, if something needs to be checked - and let me add this weird little anecdote I experienced the other day, and that I couldnt find anywhere on here: While I was doing the "The Noble Daughter"-quest, after I killed the two Orc's, I met master trainer Tobern figting a bear in front of the cave, where Lady Rogbut was hiding. Very weird!

And again, as I find this page extremely fascinating, let me know if theres anything I can do to help! — Unsigned comment by Krusty (talkcontribs) on 12 February 2009

I have just the page for you! This is a list of pages where schedules have been written but that still need to be checked. Somebody willing to follow NPCs around and make sure they follow the advertised schedule would be really useful. Once you've done one, add "|scheduleChecked=[[User:Krusty|Krusty]]" to the {{cleanup-obnpcrp}} tag and it'll list you as the checker for that page and move it into this category. –RpehTCE 12:01, 12 February 2009 (EST)

You got it! Can't promise I can do all of them, but I'll give it a shot! What should I do in case I find a mistake or something like that? And btw, in case you should need it someday, here's my complete list on Marana:

7am-12pm: at home sleeping 12.30pm: she leaves the house 1pm: eating at The All-Saints Inn 2pm: leaving the All Saints-Inn 3pm: back in the house, unlocked 6pm: leaving the house 7pm: the alley next to the All Saints Inn for a date with Ancus Alfranius 10pm: leaving the alley 11pm: City Isle Arboretum 2am: taking off from the Arboretum 2.25-2.50am: Walking through the Temple District (the walk takes approx 25mins) (the start and end time here depends on, where she is at the Arboretum when the time reaches 2am.) 3am: City Isle Waterfront lighthouse 4am: Standing behind Armand Christophes House 6am: leaving Christophes House 7am: Home again.

Carries: Her house Key and some gold.

House Items: Living Room: Lockpick. Second floor: Tamika’s West Weald Wine, Surille Brothers Wine Basement: torch, repair hammer, Tamika’s West Weald Wine.

Broken link[edit]

Hi, the following link doesn't work (I've tested it on Ie and Firefox): http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Through_A_Nightmare%2C_Darkly The page talks about a quest in Bravil.

Thanks. Wowexec

It does now. It was probably just a problem with the cached copy of the page, which would have been fixed when I purged the page just now. --NepheleTalk 22:24, 14 February 2009 (EST)

Also http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:When_the_Vow_Breaks has been broken for a few weeks, and another that I can't recall with the same MySQL error. If I figure out which one it was, I'll let you know. I'd assumed there'd be some kind of alert for errors, so that's why I didn't bother reporting it. Is here the best way to let folks know? --DoubleGrande 04:59, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Okay, I've purged that one too. The errors are typically caused by the system being too busy rather than anything else, but the best place to report them is on the Community Portal. –RpehTCE 06:38, 24 February 2009 (EST)
Thanks. It's good to know the right place to report, and to know that it's worth reporting. --DoubleGrande 08:06, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Glitches[edit]

I thought this wiki didn't document glitches (this is why). Could you please tell me which glitch notes are ok to keep and which are not, so in the future I'll be able to make the right decision? Also, I couldn't really understand what that note was saying, which was another reason I removed it. If you could clarify or reword it I would be most appreciative.
Finally, I added the "pick up a sword" line because he doesn't start with one (the note implied he did), and all npcs will pick up a weapon if they are unarmed. --98.213.150.63 01:24, 19 February 2009 (EST)

There's a big difference between those two pages. The glitch describes on the Retaking The Fringe page described something that only happens as part of that quest. The note about Dorian's staff is irrelevant to the A Mage's Staff quest though, as there are many, may other ways in which paralysis can be achieved and picking your staff simply because it's one way of exploiting a glitch is silly. If we have a note on that page, we may as well have one on the Spells, Scrolls and Dremora Equipment pages too. –RpehTCE 02:46, 19 February 2009 (EST)
Ok, that makes sense. --98.213.150.63 18:45, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Bugs info deleted totally not sure why[edit]

I added to the section where if Martin was told to wait in Cloud Ruler and player left that he disappeared. Expected revision/edit, didn't expect the entire post to just be deleted. Do you think at least a reader could be told to check the open stone room in the temple courtyard area for Martin before having to re-load a prior game?

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Light_the_Dragonfires There seems to be a bug where, if you ask Martin to wait for you after he tells you about his plan, he will disappear altogether. To fix this you will have to reload a save prior to commencing the quest. [verification needed — Is this true, does it always happen? If so why?] Happened to me. Told Martin was told to wait, went to Skingrad then went back to Cloud Ruler and couldn't find him. Went to Council chambers, Baurus was patrolling outside, Entered and spoke to Ocato who says that He heard Martin was in the Imperial city and was waiting for him. Used the command prompt (player.moveto 1e745) and was taken to Martin at Cloud Ruler Temple. He was outside the building in a stone room on the right, on horseback, waiting with Jaffre. Spoke to him, chose follow me and the game progressed normally from there. So he didn't altogether disappear, just moved to a location almost hiding from the player finding him.

I didn't delete your post, I moved it to the talk page as I said in my edit summary. Articles aren't the place to detail the steps somebody took to verify a claim - that's what talk pages are for - so I simply put the text in the right place. –RpehTCE 02:36, 21 February 2009 (EST)

Ok, thanks. Admit I don't know my way around here. Possible to edit the main page to say Martin may disappear or have moved to the stable area in the Cloud Ruler Courtyard? At least that may save someone a re-load if all they see is what I did when I first read it.

Starting Pages[edit]

How do I create a new page on this wiki. I am interested i making a page called " Graphical differences between Elder Scrolls Games." Ag2013 10:14, 21 February 2009 (EST)

See this help page. Can I advise caution here though? I don't see there's a need for a page on this topic. Graphics get better with time, because hardware improves. That's about everything you can say. –RpehTCE 10:10, 21 February 2009 (EST)
Thanks, but I do believe it needs mention somewhere.Ag2013 10:14, 21 February 2009 (EST)
Seriously, if that's all the page says, it's going to be proposed for deletion the instant you hit save. –RpehTCE 10:18, 21 February 2009 (EST)
Relax I wasn't really going to start an entire page for that subject, it was the most nonchalant way to bring up page creation. It's something that would be a paragraph on a page that I won't create but will likely be here. Maybe something like "Evolution of the Elder Scrolls games"Ag2013 10:33, 21 February 2009 (EST)
[[Lore:blah|See this red link?]] If you click it, you will create a page called blah. A page that I will delete so it doesn't add another Lore item to the Wanted Pages section.74.65.142.202 10:39, 21 February 2009 (EST)
Hmm, how about no. And I was talking to Reph, who's probably deleting my addition to the morrowind-oblivion page I just made.Ag2013 10:44, 21 February 2009 (EST)
My name is Rpeh, not Reph. Anybody can get involved in a discussion and no, I didn't delete your addition. Before you make any more additions, I suggest you read some of our Policies and Guidelines then you will learn that I'm not being overbearing, I'm trying to keep the site running in accordance with our agreed standards. –RpehTCE 10:53, 21 February 2009 (EST)

NPC Rumors and Dialogue[edit]

I noticed you took off my 'N/A's on Dialogue and Rumors for some recent Skingrad NPCs I did and didn't really understand some of them. For example, I just found in the CS the dialogues for Vigge the Cautious, but not the rumors. Does this mean that, in this case, I would have to look through all of the 'Rumors' dialogue of every single Skingrad citizen, to see if they have something to say on Vigge? In regards to Erthor, I didn't see much Dialogue there, except for follow and wait. The only real dialogue I saw was him thanking you for saving him and the variations around it, something I would except to see on the quest page rather than on the NPC one. Am I wrong? Thanks in advance. --SerCenKing 12:54, 21 February 2009 (EST)

The rumors are usually in the "Conversation" tab of the dialogue box, and check to see if the relevant NPC is still alive. What I usually do is a search for the NPC's name (and parts thereof) in the dialogue export you can generate (See the File/Export menu - but beware it takes a long time). Then I double-check in the CS to make sure something is unique. I also check the CS on all the tabs to make sure I haven't missed any - for instance, one of the rumors about Danus Artellian doesn't even reference him by name. –RpehTCE 13:00, 21 February 2009 (EST)

Schedule suggestion by Krusty[edit]

Hey, just check out this link for Krusty's suggestion for schedules. Cheers. --SerCenKing 12:51, 23 February 2009 (EST)

Oh yes, and in case you missed it, there's a complete and somewhat different schedule on Dion waiting for you on his talk-page... Krusty 14:02, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Marauder image[edit]

Just a very simple (and maybe useless) question: I noticed that you have uploaded the Male Orc Marauder image which I'm currently using at the top of my new article here. I just wondered in which location you took it so that I can include it in the image description. This might seem petty but all other NPC pages have it; for example the Bandit page has a bandit at Fat Rat Camp. Thanks. --SerCenKing 14:10, 26 February 2009 (EST)

I have no idea. I uploaded that in October 2007, which is a fairly long time ago... I do remember going to some Marauder location, taking images of the ones there and then using the console to spawn the rest, so it's probably one of the marauder dungeons. –RpehTCE 14:30, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Alright, since I can see some forest vegetation in the background and a ruined wall chunk its probably Fort Wooden Hand... I'm obviously not sure but I could sneakly put in because I doubt someone will check...
On a completely un-related matter, I nominated myself for Patroller on Tuesday, just in case you didn't notice. However, I don't understand one part of the nomination process: does the community vote during the week following the Nomination or after the week? Cheers --SerCenKing 14:56, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Yeah I noticed. I usually try to wait before voting after some people said that they based their votes on what the admins thought. I have written my vote - I'll post it in a few days. –RpehTCE 15:15, 26 February 2009 (EST)
Oh ok, I though it had simply gone un-noticed. Anyway, I might as well answer what you said on Neph's talk page: I took a look at the Dremora page and I must say I'm impressed: Timenn has done a very good job. However, I share the same opinions as Nephele: while there are many names of dremora (e.g. Churl) in the case of Marauders it's simply one and presenting it how I did it would make more sense. However, I did like the layout and I'm planning to use for my next big revamp: Oblivion:Vampire --SerCenKing 16:26, 26 February 2009 (EST)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for the welcome!

LieutenantDavies 09:31, 28 February 2009 (EST)

No problem. Hope you enjoy the site! –RpehTCE 10:33, 28 February 2009 (EST)

Page error[edit]

Hi, the following link doesn't work (I've tested it on Ie and Firefox): http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Imperial_Corruption The page talks about a quest in Imperial city.

I've just purged it. Try again now. –RpehTCE 10:33, 28 February 2009 (EST)
