Westtry is a town in western High Rock, located in the region of Cambray Hills in Glenumbra.
At some point between 2E 220 and 2E 582, the town was invaded by Nord raiders.[1] Leon Milielle, a local priest, saw the ongoing carnage and prayed to Stendarr for aid. When no answers came, Milielle became desperate and prayed to the Daedric Prince Molag Bal, begging him to save his people. Molag Bal listened to his plea, but his idea was different: he let the Nords kill all the people of Westtry and then preserved them as spirits, forcing them to relive the invasion over and over again. He also turned Milielle's wife, Guard Captain Rosalind, into a wraith and a tormentor of the people she used to protect. Afterward, Westtry became known as a cursed town and travelers avoided it. In 2E 582, the Vestige visited Westtry, defeated Rosalind's spirit, and was given the chance to either make the town safe for mortals again or free the spirits of the townsfolk from their torment.[2]
Regardless of the Vestige's choice, Westtry eventually became inhabited again. Shortly before the Warp in the West, it was a part of the duchy of Daenia. Around that time, it contained guildhalls of the Fighters, Mages, and Thieves Guild, as well as a Dark Brotherhood hideout.[3]
