Dragonstar West

Dragonstar is a small city located in the Druadach Highlands region, straddling the Skyrim-Hammerfell border. The city has been divided since the conclusion of the War of Bend'r Mahk some thirty years ago. Dragonstar East belongs to the Nordic Kingdom of the Reach and makes up its westernmost holdings. Dragonstar West, meanwhile, remains under the control of the Redguard Crowns, and makes up last remnant of Hammerfell's territoy within the Reach. Following the resolution of the Imperial Simulacrum, Imperial forces hastily erected a wall between the city's occupied areas to stop the fighting, a structure which stands to this day[verification needed — see talk page]. Visitors to Dragonstar should be aware that travel across the Imperial-maintained dividing wall is heavily restricted. Additional precautions should be taken to ensure personal safety; politically-driven violence is common on both sides of the wall.

Dragonstar East[edit]

Jarl Jona, know as "the Ansei-Ender" for her conquests within the Reach, rules her holdings from Castle Dragonstar in the eastern city. Dragonstar East is also home to the city's arena and its Fighters Guild, though the latter has been defunct since the war. Only one establishment, the Shadowkey Tavern, offers rooms in the east, but travelers seeking only gossip and refreshments might seek out Ildgar's Alehouse as well. Much of Dragonstar East was heavily damaged during the war, and some areas have not been reconstructed.

Dragonstar West[edit]

The western half of the city, ruled by Prince Alak'tol since his narrow childhood escape from his former seat at Karthwasten, suffered less damage during the war. Dragonstar West is home to the city's Grand Bazaar, as well as its Mages Guild chapter. Travelers seeking accommodations have more options in the western city; both the Dragon Fountain Inn and Nukra-Tikil Tavern offer beds for rent.

People[edit]

Dragonstar West is ruled by Prince Alak'tol, who can be found in the Crown Palace. Dragonstar East is rules by Jarl Jona the Ansei-Ender from Castle Dragonstar.

In the western part of the city you can find the local guildhall of the Hammerfell Mages Guild, led by Eranthos. The Skyrim Thieves Guild operates from the Shadowkey Tavern and is led by Anbod. In the city's eastern half you can find the Dragonstar Arena and Rekir, who oversees the arena's battles.

Getting There and Around[edit]

In Dragonstar East at the northeastern city gate you'll find Arvund can take you to Karthwasten on his carriages. Depending on how Turbulent Teleporting is completed, Marcurio Ampis may move to the Guild of Mages in Dragonstar West and begin offering guild guides services to Karthwasten.

Places of Interest Around Dragonstar[edit]

Leaving through the city's southeast gates you can find Imperial Legion fort Taurus Hall. If you leave through the city's northeast gate and take a turn northeast as the road turns south, you'll find an Alovach trading camp a short distance from the city.

The Reachman settlements of Merduibh, Bailcnoss, and Mairager can all be found in close proximity to the city; Merduibh and Bailcnoss can be found west of the city atop the Darvacraig Mesa, while Mairager can be found north of the city in a canyon east of the Coimeaden Mesa. The Orc camp of Nargozh can also be found nearby, west of Mairager atop the Coimeaden Mesa.
