Follower[edit]
i am on this quest but i do not wish to continue. i dont want to do this quest but every time i leave or fast travel to another place the huntswoman is following me. i believe that she will follow me until the quest is completed am i right? what i want to know is, is there any way to quit this quest? (my last save was after i became a werewolf so i cant go back)
any help would be much appriciated as i cannot continue with me game until i quit this quest. thank you — Unsigned comment by Kate the great (talk • contribs) at 16:21 on 13 November 2011
- Just like in Oblivion, you'll have to complete the quest to stop her from following you. You've completed half the quest already, and there's no turning back. --Krusty 16:33, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
-
- Could you kill her? 115.70.34.82 16:50, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
- Nobody knows anything at this point, so just try it out. If it is possible, however, it will destroy the entire Companions quest line. --Krusty 16:56, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Possible Glitch[edit]
After finishing this quest, I can't fast travel to any place I've been to before. Tla 07:05, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
Respawning Bug[edit]
After some time bandits reappear in Gallows Rock, which is normal. Interestingly enough you can also kill an indefinite number of NPCs named Krev the Skinner, who should quite probably be an unique boss. — Unsigned comment by Lauriy (talk • contribs) at 10:57 on 23 November 2011
Another respawning bug: After more then 60 days Skjor has been respawned without clothes but with his weapon equiped. He is doing his business in Jorrvaskr like before. Quozar 18:15, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Skjor Resurrected[edit]
Skjor has been found running around Jorvasskor, fully clothed with weapons, with jobs to complete, after the completion of the Companions storyline. --DaedalusMachina 00:46, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
When i go inside jorrvakr to start the quest "silver hand" aela and skjor star chasing me whith drawn weapons and i can't do the quest or fast travel anywhere. can anyone help?
Quest Execution[edit]
Why can't you teleport to a place where you have gear, put gear on, teleport back, and complete the quest... I am investigating now. — Unsigned comment by 209.180.245.247 (talk) at 23:57 on 16 December 2011
- erm, I just checked my inventory... I have everything... Why don't you sut put your armor back on? — Unsigned comment by 209.180.245.247 (talk) at 00:00 on 17 December 2011
Belethor Glitch[edit]
For some unknown reason, while I was in Gallows Rock for the Silver Hand quest, Belethor (the Whiterun general merchant) disappeared from the game. All my saves from this quest on exclude his existence, though post-werewolven pre-Gallows-Rock saves have him alive. This sucks because I have been using Whiterun as a base, with Belethor as a convenient merchant for smithing sessions. Anyone with clues how an Xboxer can fix this without undoing so much history? Guðsþegn 20:26, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
Same problem here. Fist time I did this quest I assumed I had killed him in my indiscriminate rampage, so the second time through I took the back door of the underforge and didn't kill anyone, yet he's still gone.--174.53.152.188 22:15, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
Entering Underforge and Choosing "Not Ready" Kills Sleep Bonus[edit]
Have not received "well rested" or the marriage rested bonus since going in and saying no to the ritual. Any known work-around, or is this simply a time to complete quest then cure werewolf?
- Just to be clear, you said no to becoming a werewolf, and now don't get the rest bonus, even though you are not one? If that is the case, it should probably be noted under bugs. And to answer your question, since you have to become a werewolf to complete the quest line, you should probably just go ahead and get it over with to get your resting ability back. EmmBee 02:44, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
I'd say just become a werewolf, finish the main storyline, collecting two witch heads when you have to, and cure yourself when you cure Kodlak. Saromango 08:00, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
Achievement glitch?[edit]
After becoming a werewolf one should receive this achievement. After wiping out the Silver Hand, becoming Harbinger, and completing the Companions' quest line one should DEFINITELY have this achievement. For me, however, it's still locked. Advice? 134.176.247.178 12:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Tim Bostick
- I'm lost as to what achievment you're talking about. Saromango 08:02, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

No chain at Galllows Rock?[edit]
This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered. |
Some time ago, I cleared Gallows Rock. Now I've started this questline, and Gallows Rock is still empty. However, inside, the chain by the severed werewolf head that I originally pulled has disappeared. I have searched every possible inch of the room. There is no chain, so I can't get past the gate to continue. Has anyone else experienced this? 65.128.28.76 20:02, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- I haven't seen this, and I have cleared Gallows Rock before starting Silver Hand. Perhaps this is an old bug that's been cleared by current patches? --Morrolan (talk) 15:04, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
Follower part II[edit]
I wonder if this is related to the first section of the page.
I have a follower, and he never catches up with me after the quest ends.
First, I thought he might have gotten killed during the rampage, so I went back to Whiterun, looked everywhere for his body, and didn't find it. So I reloaded and made sure to stash him before starting the quest. He wasn't in that place (just inside Jorrvaskr) when I went back after it was over.
Oh, for the record, the missing follower is a mercenary. I was also traveling with an essential follower (aside from Aela), and that one DID manage to catch up at Gallows Rock, leaving me with him and Aela.
Could Aela's forced following, along with the warping nature of the quest, have maybe expedited the process that goes "it seems you already have a follower" and nuked my sellsword? Would be a shame, he was loaded up with gear. — Unsigned comment by 64.121.49.46 (talk) at 16:46 on 16 July 2012
- When Aela follows you, your old follower is dismissed and goes back to where they normally live. I thought this was covered on the Followers page. VycDarkshadow (talk) 19:58, 29 December 2013 (GMT)
Added note[edit]
However, if a certain amount of time has passed, you may only have to do one radiant quest to begin Blood's Honor.
- I added this note; it seems to always be what happens to me. If I immediately complete the quest, I get a second one (once) but if the quest is at an undiscovered place I usually wait for a while to do it and I only get 1 quest before Blood's Honor (multiple times).--Catmaniac66 (talk) 17:11, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
-
- I've since done this quest while waiting what I thought was a while to do the first quest. So time might not be a factor, or it is a REALLY long time.--Catmaniac66 (talk) 03:26, 2 December 2012 (GMT)

- I have never had to wait to get the next quest. In fact, Aela will jump right into it after completing the current quest. If there is supposed to be a wait, or a need to complete the radiant quests - then it must be bugged. — Unsigned comment by 184.17.26.66 (talk) at 01:02 on 21 February 2013

Prerequisite quests[edit]
My recollection is that I only had to do 1 radiant quest before I was able to get this one. An anonymous editor seems to feel that you need 2. Can we get some verification from game data? --Xyzzy Talk 14:02, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
- I've done this more than once, and it's usually 1 radiant quest. But I think I've seen two radiant quests in between as well. --Morrolan (talk) 15:05, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
- The script CompanionsHousekeepingScript checks the variable RadiantQuestsUntilC03, and this is set to 1 by the quest C00 (see here) - search for RadiantQuestsUntilC03 on both links if you want to verify. There may be other conditions, or maybe some radiant quests that don't update RadiantQuestsDoneInCurrentSegment, but those are the required radiant quest conditions found in the game data: 1 for C01, 1 for C03 and 2 for C04 . --Alfwyn (talk) 16:00, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
- I'm at this point in my current playthrough, and I've just done Striking the Heart followed by a Retrieval quest without advancing the storyline. --Morrolan (talk) 21:01, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
- Wait, I think I misread. It looks like Alfwyn is saying that you need two radiants from The Silver Hand to advance to Blood's Honor, but just one to get The Silver Hand, which is exactly what I just encountered. If that's what is being said here then we agree. --Morrolan (talk) 18:48, 24 January 2013 (GMT)
- I suspect by the recent changes to this number that some people are having to do more than 1 radiant quest before they can get this one. Maybe we need to be less precise in the article, as the game may not be that precise. Either that, or we're still missing some piece of the puzzle. --Xyzzy Talk 01:14, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

Skjor won't talk to me[edit]
When I go into the underforge and skjor finishes his dialogue he never comes up to me and asks me what I want to do. Just stands there all day. I've had this problem before but before I could fix the quest with c commands. Now it's on Xbox and I can't get it to work — Unsigned comment by 24.188.32.248 (talk) at 02:47 on 13 August 2013
- Ok now it's fixed. For some reason deleting and re downloading the patch seemed to work — Unsigned comment by 24.188.32.248 (talk) at 03:46 on 13 August 2013
Bugs Cleanup[edit]
- You may not pass out after drinking from the blood fountain and you will just be standing there in human form. Leave the room via either exit and you will automatically load the next sequence with you transformed as a werewolf on a rampage.
- Sometimes, if you drink from the Underforge twice before you faint, the game will skip your rampage through Whiterun and you'll simply wake up before Aela the Huntress as if it happened anyway.
- When you've completed the ritual and transformed into a werewolf, you will be teleported out of town. Once this happens, your follower will leave your service. Some followers disappear from the game completely such as Cicero and Vorstag.
- These bugs have sat unconfirmed for long enough. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:11, 7 September 2013 (GMT)
Alternitive armor location[edit]
Today, on the Xbox, the skinner was wearing Insulated Dragon Armor. I am level 25. --Maldini (talk) 14:46, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
