Ald Virak's tower overlooks Anbarsud mine

Ald Virak is an ancient tower containing secrets both divine and profane.

It is situated in the hills of Roth Roryn, southwest of the small settlement of Menaan. A number of bandits have set up camp immediately east of it, while to the west lies the abandoned iron mine of Anbarsud.

Ald Virak does not appear to have weathered the years well, as the floors of the tower have collapsed into a pit at its bottom, exposing a small number of ebony veins in the process. Only a few parts of the upper floor still survive - one bears the tower's original shrine, and the Holy Blade of Ald Virak, a dagger that turns undead and sets fire to them. It's a dagger that may be needed when exploring the ruin, for it is filled with skeleton guardians that watch over Ald Virak's greatest secret: that it was built over the even older Dunmer stronghold of Romayon, where dwell Daedra and other profane creatures.

The location itself features in a small number of quests concerning the vampiric presence within. In Trial of the Saint, Ald Virak is the location you are sent to in order to purge it of vampires. In the Orlukh Clan quests on the other hand, you will be asked to repel vampire hunters (in Invasion from Above), and also to pass through Ald Virak in the search for a cattle that has stolen a propylon index vital to the clan's plans (Warmblooded Introduction).
