Regarding Tiber War[edit]
The name comes from Varieties of Faith in the Empire. -- kertaw48 11:17, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I can't actually find anything explicitly stating that the name "Tiber Wars" is used over "The Unification of Tamriel" in that book, but it doesn't actually matter - I was just curious as to the source of the title, and they both sound nice enough :) Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 11:31, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
- I know you said it doesn't matter, but oh well:
- HoonDing (The Make Way God): Yokudan spirit of 'perseverance over infidels'. The HoonDing has historically materialized whenever the Redguards need to 'make way' for their people. In Tamrielic history this has only happened three times -- twice in the first era during the Ra Gada invasion and once during the Tiber War. In this last incarnation, the HoonDing was said to have been either a sword or a crown, or both.
- Also, oops on the bad grammar. -- kertaw48 11:36, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
According to the game Derkeethus is marked as essential.[edit]
--If you use the console command isessential on him. His value will appear 1 which makes him an essential character. I played the game using two characters. and he is essential in both of them. not sure if it is a bug. And sorry if I put this in the wrong section in your page.(109.161.134.51 16:52, 6 May 2012 (UTC))
- Well, I got my source from here, and the information on pages is taken from the in-game files. As it says in the bugs section, his seeming to be essential may be due to a bug. On a side note, have you ever considered making an account? Your edits are top-notch! :) Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 17:05, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Smithing bug[edit]
Hi Kitkat
"Smithing improvement is based on the level of the item being improved and any bonuses granted by items. You may see more benefit from equipping bonus items specific to the item being improved than bonus items specific to smithing. For a bow, the Ring of Major Archery (+25%) will get you more improvement than the Ring of Minor Smithing (+12%). A bit of mix and match will get you the best combination."
I know it sounds weird but I spent about an hour trying different combinations to verify this, I think I should have specified PS3 though. Please try it yourself, if it works please revert my edit. If not, just tell me where to find crow in Whiterun
Dadeo 12:32, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, as I said here, I wasn't able to reproduce it. Therefore, I moved it to the talk page, so that it could be verified by anyone else who encountered the same bug as you. It's possible the issue has been patched, or that it was a once off glitch. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 12:42, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism warning[edit]
Not sure if you saw this [[1]], but an anon posted a reply to your vandalism warning from a different IP. I'm not very well versed on this whole thing, but it may be confusion on his/her part. Do you know how this can happen, and can you explain it to me? I wanted to respond to it, since nobody else was, but don't want to say something ignorant :) --Xyzzy 08:45, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for bringing that to my attention :) As per this page, anons seeing warnings which aren't meant for them is a serious problem at the moment, and it's ongoing, but "purging" seems to fix the issue. I think there's a few tutorials on how to "purge" something on the page I linked to, but the easiest thing to do is to enable the "Page" drop down in your preferences, which comes with a built-in purge tab. It's listed under "Gadgets", as I recall. Sorry if that sounded like total gibberish - it's early, and it made sense in my head! I've also (hopefully) dealt with the indignant IP user. - No, no, no, don't be sorry at all - I can totally understand why you did that. That's why I posted this redlink to your "sanbox" on your talk page. Click that link, and you can type in whatever it is you're working on, then save it, leave, and come back again, without the fear that somebody else will mess with your work. You can even copy/paste the Fort Irony page into the sanbox, and edit it like that. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 08:50, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Editor[edit]
Hey. I noticed that you removed one of my contribs. Two things:
- Good job patrolling, I just joined today and thought I knew the ropes, but I looked back at my post and it wasn't really up to par.
- Could you give me pointers as to how I could be a better contributor in the future?
No rush, and I don't absolutely need you to, I'll learn soon enough. --Grim765 11:09, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hiya :) Welcome to UESPWiki! This page has some great links and editing tips, such as this and this, which give a basic intro into contributing. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact me or one of the other mentors. Happy editing! Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 11:57, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Bloodlet Throne[edit]
You reverted this edit of mine to the Bloodlet Throne dungeon page.
- An easy way to defeat the Master Vampire group if you are an archer or a mage is to shoot the Master Vampire through the spear wall. He will aggro but be unable to get to you through the wall, and will be an easy kill, as they have no ranged attacks besides Vampiric Drain.
You said it was not necessary. I think that it is worthwhile to have that in there. The final encounter with the Master Vampire is somewhat difficult. There are three bandit corpses that the Vampires will reanimate, plus about 5-6 wolves and the two vampires themselves. There are also many other pages that list tricks like that for defeating parts of certain dungeons. --Anil 13:55, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
can you be my arena mentor[edit]
I haven't played arena daggerfall or morrowind but I'm here to talk to you about arena and daggerfall I liked the wiki on them but I didn't tell me what I needed to hear and I'm thinking about getting an expensive laptop for those games and if I do my entire life will be messed up cause I'm a 10 year old rpg gamer who is a member of a poor but happy family and if I get that then I might not be able to get I don't know a surprise tes game that comes out on a random day and I cant get it so just reply to this if you'll answer the question that no one could answer oh and plus I'm a new editor could you give me some editing tips — Unsigned comment by 173.55.184.189 (talk) at 00:38 on 24 June 2012
- As for the kind of computer you need, Arena and Daggerfall should work on any basic computer made since 2000, and possibly earlier. Morrowind will probably run well on any computer since 2005. None of them have high graphics. Arena and Daggerfall are available for free download from Bethesda's website, too.
- You can check out this page for advice on how to edit and what you can contribute, but Kitkat should be able to answer any specific questions you've got. Vely►Talk►Email 23:48, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

- Well, for anyone starting off with TES games, I would always recommend Arena or Daggerfall. Morrowind is a good game, but I'm sad to say I never got the hang of it myself. In regards to buying a laptop over another game, Arena and Daggerfall are free to download, and it's possible that Morrowind may be soon, so it would be well worth your time. In my humble opinion - the classics are much better than Skyrim could ever wish to be.

- I downloaded Arena, Daggerfall, and all of the official patches from this French (?) site, using the already installed DOSBox that comes with the games, which should make it all compatible with a newer computer or a Mac. You need to click the
ArenaSetup.exe
andDaggerfallSetup.exe
files, and the rest is pretty easy. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 08:04, 24 June 2012 (UTC)- Downloaded DOSBox and the ArenaSetup.exe, but it will only show up in Text Edit. How can I actually install the game? DosBox opens fine, but Arena and Daggerfall are text edit only.--Grim765 08:49, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

(←) Ok, downloading DOS files for Mac is rather tricky, but it's possible, so listen up:
- First, you're going to want to find, unstuff and extract the
Arena106.exe
file that was downloaded onto your Mac. You can do this using the free Stuffit Expander for Mac. This sounds more confusing than it is. - Better advice can be found here and here.
If extracting the .exe file doesn't work, please get back to me. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 10:17, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

- Downloaded Stuffit, but where can I find arena106.exe? I downloaded arenasetup.exe. If I drag that into the stuffit it isn't compatible.--Grim765 18:40, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- That should work, since Stuffit enables extraction of RAR files, but at this stage I'd just recommend deleting Arena, and following these guidlines. They look much easier. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 18:50, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

What exactly did you find confusing?--Tashy 18:09, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- You took a direct quote from a book and inserted it onto the page, followed by a link to the book. Out of context, the quote makes little sense to those not familiar with the subject matter. As I said, the information seems correct, so you'd be better off adding a reference to the book as your source, instead of direct-quoting it. Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 18:26, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Warning?[edit]
I just saw that I got this warning: "Please do not add nonsense to UESPWiki, as it is considered to be vandalism." I can't even remember of ever having edited a page of this Wiki - could you tell me what exactly I added & what I did wrong?
Edit: Ah, I just found out. There was this one sentence about Arcadia and that she might get replaced, wasn't it? Well, then I'm sorry if I caused any trouble - I had just read that in an Elderscrolls forum, together with a list of many other merchants and how they get replaced after being killed. Since most of the list was correct (in my game some merchants were killed by dragons & during the siege of Whiterun/Solitude), I assumed that it was in Arcadia's case as well. If it's wrong, I'm sorry - again, I didn't mean to cause any trouble. Won't happen again. :) — Unsigned comment by 91.53.197.200 (talk) at 21:28 on 17 July 2012
- This has been the only edit to this wiki from your current IP address, so you probably haven't edited here before now. Chances are, it was an incorrect New Messages banner which led you to another IPs talk page who did have a warning, if you can remember the page you were on before this happened - that would be great, if not - it doesn't matter. Its just how the wiki caches for anonymous users, to save on the server costs. Long story short: you've not done anything wrong at all, no trouble on your part! --kiz talkemail 21:30, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

- Ahhh oke :D Then maybe I just WANTED to add that damn sentence and forgot about that, lol... (I'm kinda stressed atm - exam weeks, I'm studying law.) I was at the High Gate Ruin's page, when I got that warning. ^^ — Unsigned comment by 91.53.197.200 (talk) at 21:34 on 17 July 2012
- A user with a very similar IP address made this edit which Kitkat reverted, though I don't think such an edit would warrant a warning like what you saw. No warnings or messages were on your current IP's talk page or that IP's talk page, but it's possible there's some shared-IP issues, or, like Kiz said, you may have seen an incorrect banner for a different IP for some reason. One way to make sure this doesn't happen in the future is to register an account and view the wiki while logged in. It's free, easy, and wouldn't have any disadvantages at all-- only advantages. :) Either way, hopefully this doesn't happen to you again! ABCface◥ 21:42, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Edit on talk page of Keening[edit]
That was me, before I finally made an account. I wanted to remove that post, because I felt like my statement would best be made in a new section, and after I did that I realized the previous post was now redundant. I don't want to seem pushy about the topic, but I strongly feel that all weapons and armor were meant to temper correctly. It's an infuriating irony that some of the best weapons in the game are nothing compared to what you can create if you master enchanting, smithing, and the corresponding skill for that weapon or armor piece. The Nightingale Blade, for example. My character wouldn't be caught dead carrying around such a weak sword when he has a Legendary Daedric Sword with only somewhat-weaker dual enchantments to use. That sword should be one of the best weapons in the game at its highest leveling, but it pales in comparison to weapons you can make without even using Fortify Restoration. Sorry for going on like that, but is there a place where it would be best to post something like this? I want to get my point across on this problem, but the few posts I've made on item talk pages have failed to get even a response from someone. Most items with this problem are indeed noted as bugged, but there are at least two that are not and both seem to contain mere speculation to support the lack of a bug note.--Playerseekingbugs (talk) 13:14, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

I was wonder as to how to create an account in the forums, it just keeps saying that my username is invalaid, or that my email address in invalaid. also, why do we need a seperate account between the wiki and the forums. (Lordofmagicvoldemort (talk) 06:29, 15 January 2013 (GMT))
- Hello! Creating a forum account can be tricky enough, but trust me, it's worth it! If you're having trouble registering, try following these steps:
- Clear your browser cache.
- Try using a shorter name.
- Check your emails to see if you've been sent a verification email. If you have, it's probably in the spam folder.
- If possible, use an alternate email address when registering - if it works, this should pinpoint where the problem lies.
- If none of those work, you can contact Avron the S'wit, the forum moderator, on her talk page for further information.
- Finally, the subject of one account for both sites has been discussed and debated, but it doesn't appear to be feasable at this time, due to software incompatabilities. Maybe someday, though :) Kitkat •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 11:54, 15 January 2013 (GMT)
