The lost key

Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Keitius Nobius in his Marav home about key in the barn.
2. (Optional) Obtain a Potion of Detect Key to help with the search.
3. Retrieve Keitius Nobius' Key from the barn next to Keitius' house.
4. Bring the key to Keitius.

Detailed Walkthrough

The Reeve of Marav, Keitius Nobius, is a busy man. Speak to him and he'll ask that, if you have the time, you search the village barn for a lost key. Agree to help, and he'll suggest obtaining a detect key potion from the alchemist at Brina Cross' Guild of Mages.

You can travel to Brina Cross, but said alchemist (Latreus Aurantus) won't have such a potion in stock. He'll give you a recipe - a Palm Fruit combined with a Diamond - but this likely too expensive a concoction to be worth the reward. He'll point you instead to the city of Anvil, although you'll find that no alchemist here stocks the potion required. Consider using the guild guide to get to Charach and buying a Detect Key spell from Llaldir instead.

(If you haven't used a Detect Key effect before, note that the location of the key will be shown on your map while the effect is active.)

The barn itself is next to Keitius Nobius' house, with the key being on top of a crate on the higher floor. You can reach it by jumping onto the crate and barrel in the southeastern corner.

Return the key to Keitius for your reward.

20		The alchemist at the Brina Cross Mages Guild did not have a detect key potion. He told me to go to Anvil instead or to brew the potion myself. He gave me a recipe for the latter -- combine palm fruit with a diamond.
100	Finishes quest	I returned the key to Keitius Nobius. He gave me a cake and some gold as thanks.
105	Finishes quest	Angry with my handling of the hostage situation in Marav, Keitius Nobius now refuses to talk with me.
